It seems that the Near-Field Communication (NFC) technology becomes the hottest improvement on the mobile devices (includes Tablet PC) these days. After Google burns this NFC capability into its Tablets optimized Android 3.0 Gingerbread OS, now, Apple also move into this NFC technology. It is said that this mobile payment service will be available on the iPad 2 tablets. With this feature, the iPad 2 users can pay its shopping directly via their iPad.
Many have said that this NFC technology will become the futures of electronic payments – which will replace the Credit Cards function eventually. Indeed, this mobile payment service will not only become the physical credit cards but also a replacement for the whole credit cards payment system. Apple iPad 2′s NFC technology will support up-to four inches payment-data transaction. NFC payment system is done by using an e-wallet purchase system.
Let’s take example from Apple iPad 2 as NFC payment tool. iPad 2 users can use their NFC e-wallets to connect with iTunes gift-card balance or bank accounts which means that iPad 2 users can use their NFC e-wallets for each iTunes purchasing. Also that, there is an intensive here since Apple whom will pay the credit-card fees. It seems Apple is really serious about this NFC technology since they re-tune the iTunes to optimally support NFC’s mobile payment service.
However, even though NFC technology may replace the credit cards in future, MasterCard (the leading credit cards providers) still supports the NFC. It seems MasterCard see potential inNFC to enhance their credit cards business. MasterCard may also offers NFC service in future, who knows. It is said that NFC technology will be a perfect payment system for the growing mobile ads so the mobile ads business will take to new high levels – especially the location-based mobile ads.
As example, the iPad2 users may use their NFC e-wallets to buy a nearby products and then claim the discount that mentioned in the mobile advertising. It is surely a great mobile payment service, isn’t it? Apple is not half-way about this iPad 2 NFC technology. They will also provide the payment terminal (which is free) for small business which will surely accelerate the Apple NFC business venture. It will be a great advantage from their competitors such as Google.
